The Motoman HC20DT is the latest collaborative robot from Yaskawa. With 6 axles, it has a load capacity of 20 kg and a maximum reach of 1700 mm.
Capable of handling large parts and multiple parts at the same time, this robot allows working on a wide range of applications such as Assembly, Machine Tending, Material Handling, Palletizing, Pick and Pack.
Depending on risk assessment, this cobot can operate without extra safety features, saving space and lowering cost.
The new HC20DT complies with several safety standards such as the ISO 10218-1 standard (5.10.5 Limited robot energy and strength), IP67 and FGG (its coating allows it to be used in applications that require contact with food or applications that require washing with water).
The robot can be installed in machine-parts and automotive production lines, and it can be used for the simultaneous transport of multiple and heavy workpieces. Yaskawa added that the HC20DT includes a connector for direct attachment of end-of-arm tooling.
The company also developed a built-in Ethernet cable to make it easy to mount a camera. It can be operated with the YRC1000micro, as well as the HC10DT anti-dust and anti-drip functions.
Yaskawa said it hopes that the cobot’s small footprint, ease of use, and ruggedness will help customers meet diversifying needs. Intended applications include machine tending; automotive manufacturing and assembly; and transportation of food, chemicals, or cosmetics.

HC20DT IP67 Introduction:
MOTOMAN HC20DT is a 6 axes human-collaborative robot with a payload of up to 20 kg. Operator’s safety is assured by a Power and Force Limit technology that stops the robot in case of contact with an operator.
The robot arm can be hand guided by an operator and robot positions and gripper operation can be registered via “Teach” and “Tool” buttons. These features offer time saving during the robot programming. The robot’s arm geometry was designed to avoid pinch points (finger).
The MOTOMAN HC20DT robot can operate without additional protective measures like a safety fence, depending on the risk assessment. This saves space and costs.
